We needed two lights for the morning meal bar, and had bought something generic from Home Depot. Then a friend said "how about this one?" and sent me this link. We decided to go with the matching chandelier for the dining room, and these over the morning meal bar. We're so happy with the choice. The best part is that the shades have one look in the daytime with the lights off, and totally different at night with the light on.
In the day, the shells (yes they are honestly shells) have a pearly iridescence that is a collection of soft colors fluctuating from white straight through yellows and oranges, even pinkish, but all mild. Looks like the picture. At night, flip on the lights and they give off a uniform warm glow, practically yellow, so inviting. But since the flutes are pointing down, anything is underneath gets the light from the bulbs. So, best of all worlds. Looks honestly wonderful, sets a beautiful tone for our decor.
The metal trim looks nice too, and the whole thing appears to be good ability throughout.
